LEOPARDSTOWN RACES:
Experience the unique fun and excitement of horse racing at Dublin’s only racecourse. Leopardstown is one of Europe’s premiere tracks offering both National Hunt and Flat racing. With a total of 22 race meetings annually, there’s racing action at least once a month.
Leopardstown is a thriving venue with bars, restaurants and hospitality suites. Evening race meetings during the summer months are followed by live open air music gigs.

JAMES JOYCE MUSEUM:
Walk along the seafront in Dun Laoghaire towards Sandycove, enjoy the breathtaking views on your way to the round Martello Tower: a backdrop to the small sandy harbour and home to the James Joyce Museum which houses an extensive collection of the author’s personal belongings, memorabilia and first editions of his work. James Joyce immortalised the Sandycove Tower in his masterpiece Ulysses. The opening scenes of the novel are set in the tower on 16th June 1904.
Opening hours : April – October (incl) Mon – Sat: 10am – 5pm. Sundays & Public Holidays 2pm – 6pm. The museum is closed from 1pm – 2pm weekdays.
THE MARITIME MUSEUM:
Haigh Terrace, Dun Laoghaire.
Housed in the former Mariner’s Church, the museum is open at weekends from 1pm – 5pm and on request tel: 2800969.
MARKETS:
Dalkey: Fridays 10am – 4pm
This indoor market has revived Dalkey’s centuries old tradition to being a market town. Accessed through the Heritage Centre on the main street the market offers many foods including organic fruit and vegetables, farmhouse cheeses, olives and smoked vegetarian produce.
Dun Laoghaire: Sunday 11am – 4pm.
The People Park comes alive every Sunday as market vendors bring their colourful collection of food and crafts to the Victorian Park. The market not only offers Irish merchandise but boasts a very cultural dimension with many Countries represented including Japan, Croatia, Lebanon, Italy, France, China, India, Greece and Poland.
Leopardstown: Friday 10am -4pm.
A Farmers Market is held in Leopardstown Racecourse each Friday.
DALKEY CASTLE & HERITAGE CENTRE:
Explore a fifteenth century fortified townhouse/castle. Climb to the battlements. Enjoy spectacular views of surrounding sea and mountains. Experience the tranquillity of the 10th century St. Begnet’s Church and Graveyard.
Examine the models of Dalkey Quarry and Atmospheric Railways.
